Neon Tetra's Dying in 1 month old tank Help?
Hi i have a tank that has been setup for about a month... This morning i came down to find 1 of them dead and couldn't find 2 of them... I had 10. I have recently introduced some glow light tetra's and they are all happy. Also in the tank is 1 swordtail and a handful of very pregnant guppies.
The tank is at about 26 degrees and they have been happy since we bought them. I do a regular change of 10% water and pop some cycle in to help with the balance... When i do the water change i rinse the filter media out. I have done a nitrite test that came out fine ie below .3. There is bogwood in the tank but that has been there sinse day 1!
If you have any ideas then i would be very grateful!

how many fish do you have and how big is your tank? you should probably be doing 20% water changes weekly. Tetras are not good fish for an uncycled tank. Cycle helps but doesn't do the job overnight.
Missing fish either jump or are eaten. A dead tetra could be eaten by the rest of your tank pretty quickly.
Right now you the die-off could continue. I wouldn't replace anything for about a month to let your tank establish itself. after that you can add fish back slowly -- just a few at a time.
