The history of the NHL jersey goes back almost 100 years. With its long sleeves, large numbers and logos stunning hockey jersey was one of statement pride for the hockey fans of all ages. NHL fans to buy things including jerseys and NHL games and take them home to show their support for their local team. While all 30 NHL teams now have home, away and alternate jerseys sometimes go and sell, which was not always the case.

The NHL began in 1917 with five teams. Their uniforms were originally heavy and cotton wool to keep warm and players were not very appealing.Â During the first decade of league play, teams had only one uniform worn home and away.

The main features of their jerseys in the NHL are long sleeves and stripes. The Toronto Arenas were the only team sport in a blue jersey with white trim solid.

The league slowly made its way to the United States in 1924. The first team to the states was the Boston Bruins. The NHL Jerseys associated with this team was a solid brown with gold trim. At this point, Hamilton Tigers wore a shirt of NHL lines witha fine black and gold on the sleeves.

In 1927-28, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced a new blue-and-white logo, which included a striped jersey for games at home and a fairly simple white shirt with a logo of blue sheet away from home.

In the 1930s rolled, ultra-thin alternating color lines were observed in equipment, such as the Chicago Black Hawks and Detroit Falcons. Stars highlight the jersey of the NHL New York Americans of red, white and blue.

During the 1940s, the New / York Brooklyn Americans folded and the NHL was reduced to just six teams. Now we see the emergence of more and more colored pants and a variety of home and away jerseys NHL.

In 1950, the Black Hawks moved a barber pole appearance in his black T-shirts NHL to a red shirt with an Indian head on front. Montreal Canadians wore three different shirts for the 1946 season. Third jerseys did not get used again until 1995, when the league added the idea of alternative jerseys for help to earnings. OfA Most teams have used a third jersey at some point or another, since then, and Canadians still pioneers using five T-shirts the 2008-09 season in honor of its centennial.
