The mountain bike components are designed to endure abuse and extreme conditions. These components are heavier, sometimes more larger and more durable then the road bike components. At some point you're riding on dirt, rocks, or water, etc. and the components must be durable enough to withstand abusive treatment.

It so happened that my rear derailleur broke into my full bike suspension mountain. I went one way downhill and lost control of the bike. The back of the bike finished hitting a rock face and I was left with a broken rear derailleur. So I looked on the bright side of the accident and told me now is the time to upgrade.

I could find new parts or new bike near the Servant who is a mountain bike classified website and lists of bicycles mountain for sale, bike parts and events the race, but I was in the car with my bike, so I decided to go to the store.

On the way home from the way I stopped at my bike shop to buy a new derailleur mount so you can resume as quickly as possible. I told the guy bike shop of my situation and asked me to aftermarket Shimano I wanted to buy. Not knowing anything about the different categories in the Shimano product line asked for help and this is what you sent me.

Shimano Deore is their entry level category. These products are cheap and good for the occasional rider or enthusiast. These components are stored in mountain bike level entry.

Shimano Deore LX is the next level of quality. This level is a more durable product. The main difference I've noticed is that is lighter then Deore Deore LX. My derailleur was a Deore LX and shown me the quality and reliability proven over many years.

Shimano Deore XT refers to its heavy-duty category. This category of product is not considered as a career performance, but are lighter and stronger then LX category. The price difference between the category of LX and XT level was remarkable.

Shimano XTR category is considered high performance. Again, these pieces are lighter then the category XT. As a consumer I noted the increased price of XT to XTR. I found this Appeals to class runners from the light weight of demand and high performance.

Note that this is not a complete list Shimano product line. This is the list that my bike shop on board.

So in my quest to buy a new derailleur I decided to buy The Shimano Deore XT, due to its light weight, durability and price. I had the bike shop install it for me and I was back on the road in no time.
